But as far as the Atlanteans go? It's not like they chose to be locked on the ocean floor, or for their society to wither into a husk of a city. They didn't rebuff outsiders out of spite, but because outsiders just outright aren't something "modern" Atlantis knows how to deal with. They didn't exactly need a diplomatic corps down there, y'know? I figure a few years, a few expeditions, and they might be more open to such things. There's options beyond a smash-and-grab.
