>>125268193Alright, so since these are so different, I'm going to compare them where they're similar.
I watched 3 episodes of Centaur World and found its nonstop obnoxious "The characters are retarded and that's the joke" humor to be too grating to continue on. You don't need a shit joke, a "Whacky funny faces" joke AND a damn "random Character screams really loud as if in surprise and runs away" in every episode. Once, okay, Twice, you've already crossed the limit, but three times in three episodes in a row!? The animation is fluid, but because nobody has any sort of restraint every character feels like the same flavor of wiggly. There's no character in their movements, at 3 episodes in even the "Realistic" horse is now moving almost the same as the other characters and I'll bet money by the end she's just as bouncy and wiggly and "Random" as any one of those interchangeable retards, and because of how over the top the gags are none of the 'Danger' could possibly feel.
Centaur World is The Patrick Show with songs and better animation, that's it.
Meanwhile Primal doesn't need that shit, it doesn't need constant repeated exposition, it doesn't need to repeat the same gags over and over for its humor. Even if it does a gag like a shit joke, it does it once and moves on. Still something I felt like it didn't need but if you're going to do it stopping at 1 is the best you can do. What I can appreciate about the animation is every single creature is unique, despite both being similar body shape Fang and the raptors do not move the same, despite being thick armed and hulking the Giant Monkey and Spear have their own specific movements that make them different from each other, you could tell from stick figures who's who. The animation is brutal but it is ground and adheres to the world enough that when they're in danger it feels like they're in danger.
Primal wins not because it's more mature, but because it knows how to be a better show.
