>>125004126>Had no nostalgia for the old show, dunno if it helped me or not.well that would help a little as this is a in name only reboot with a LOT either change or removed completely.
It felt like the continuity had more inspiration from the New adventures of he-man from the 90's than the she-ra show from the 80's show
Mara was He-man love interest from the 90's show and was not she-ra there and also from the future
stuff like that is great for theory crafting in forums but after the show is done it comes off as writers unfamiliar with the IP and just picked names from the wiki
I found the theme song bland and generic, several characters get put on the back burner like Lonnie and the other horde cadets, Madame Razz, hordak for most of the early seasons, even eponymous the Princesses of power aren't present for multiple episodes
Most of the shows writing problems come from the creative head Stevenson not knowing how to delegate a writing staff of an ongoing cartoon as her last job was working on a comic lumber janes, multiple episodes had different members working on them and clearly had no input or bad input from stevenson how those episodes would work with future episodes.
And that she clearly had not properly laid out the episode structure of the whole story I wouldn't be surprised if she wrote the last episode first without thinking about how to connect that ending properly with the rest of the series.
The Catra and Adora romance is done poorly as I liked Catra more when she was a villain it was like the queen of blades from starcraft all over again where a writer doesn't want to have a popular character get their comeuppance and tries to shoehorn an happy ending that goes against the established characters.
It also really pales in comparison to the 80's She-ra love interest of Seahawk as he was introduced as a pirate working for the horde because he was raised by pirates and they connected because they both were separated from their families
