In every fandom, there's always a weird fandom queen bee/"BNF" who desperately clings to a certain show so they can still feel important. But, within a year, they tend to bandwagon on a new show. Judging from her new URL, I'd say she's well on her way to The Owl House (not terribly surprising).

I'd rather we focus on fans of TLO3C, if we have to. It means we can stay on topic and the fans of TLO3C tend to be sane(r) than DT. I assume, at least. Maybe there are embarrassing TLO3C fans on Twitter too.

The only people I've ever seen actually hate on the show and note I said the show not the fandom is Rissy's specific group of like 10 people
And they can cry over "racism" and "sexism" all they want, they are made up reasons the same way I could say the same accusations for Ducktales. The real reason is they see it as a competitor to Ducktales and fanboy it enough that any "competition" (aka Lot3c and Sethwing Duck) is hated with no remorse

What makes this series sexist? Because of Xandra? Do these Twitter “smarties” like to say what doesn’t suit them? This is why this stupid policy of cancel culture goes. Xandra is quite a great person that I really liked and I don't see anything misogynistic there. By the way, the goddess of adventure Xandra originated as an inspiration from Yaya, the real woman from the movie Three Caballeros.

Daisy Duck? Yes, there are moments where she treated Donald horribly, but in the end she reconciled with him. But such is Daisy. So is Donald, when he treated Daisy in “Donald’s Dilemma” (should be called Daisy’s Dilemma more), since Donald was once a jerk and an asshole and that’s why Donald and Daisy were created for each other.

They don't need some critics to criticize what they have no idea about. I’ve watched all the episodes of The Legend of the Three Caballeros three times and I really love that series. Yes, there are some flaws in this series, but those flaws are not the ones that people on Twitter want to show.

Yes, he still wanted to prove it in the DT sitcom episode, to convince people that he was right and that he knew Duckverse well, and in fact it was absolutely the opposite. He knows absolutely nothing.

Any criticism, which is well-intentioned towards him, is blocked by him. About some of the things he did badly in Ducktales that I commented on, I got bad reviews and insults from his fans, because they don't want Frank to be offended, although I speak in good faith and with good reviews, but it's not worth it.

And it is clear that Frank does not appreciate the sources nor does he love Donald as a character. The only thing he wanted was to get a Darkwing Duck reboot, which he didn't get.

Funny to say, humans were also present in Darkwing Duck, only the humans in that series are aliens or from a parallel universe.

I love Ducktales, but I don’t want any continuity for any of the next Disney Afternoon reboots to have connections to Ducktales 2017. Just let them contain their universes. If the Quack Pack reboot is going to get its reboot by any chance, let it be according to Jymm Magon’s plans and modeled on comics and have the artistic style be like the original and nothing more. Although I would have preferred the second season of Lot3c or some new Duck series to be made.

I will always treasure those weeks where we got episode releases with time between each new ep like it was an official release. It was a one-of-a-kind watching experience that will probably never be replicated and I am glad I got to experience it. Somewhere deep down I kinda hope people who worked on it saw the threads to see all the love and shitposting that we put into it.

We took this show as far as we can. We took it from a leak Disney didn't want to ever get out Disney+ and airing on tv with adverts and being on Disney Now so at least some kids will know it exists. Cartoon fandom knows it exists too. It'll never get as good as other shows did, it might never get a season 2, but we got to the point where it's viewable. It'll be a cult series and might lead to something way down the line if it doesn't right now. Cabs are getting way more merch and attention now then they did before the show aired

The good thing is that more and more people know that this series (Legend of the Three Caballeros) exists and what is more important is that more and more people want to watch Donald Duck, but that he be the main character, not a supporting one. We haven't gotten a cartoon in a long time without focusing on Donald.

If Lot3c were shown more in Latin America and Europe, where Donald is more popular than in the USA and Canada, it would be a good hit. We may not get a second season of Cabs in the near future, but I’m sure we might get some Duck animated series, in which Donald Duck would be the main character.

Plus, I hope it will bring back quality 2D animation and classic style, as it looks in Lot3c, even though the animation was bad there.

If we are talking PKNA (which I call the definitive but isn't the only) then there's no way a Disney show can capture the emotion and themes that one has while maintaining its action
Some of the comics before and after that, like ones in the weekly issues, would be more then adaptable

Ducktales fans can complain how we bitched in these threads, but here was a clear reason. Ducktales flat out killed off our show and all the potential it had. Directly.
And Disney knows in the end it was the wrong choice, that's why they are doing this petty Disney XD "drop" to tide us over given the Disney+ numbers were probably good. Won't hold them up at night since TVA is nothing to their bottom line but you can tell they realize it was a mistake. LOT3C wouldn't have attempted to make all characters gay either

It is possible, because DT Donald is a caring Donald, who protects his family, even though his family does not respect him in the right way. Cabs Donald is a classic Donald who is sometimes a jerk and has a frequent anger problem, but accepts his friends as they are, also loves Daisy with all his heart, even though she sometimes treats him horribly. He is also good to Daisy’s nieces, also Donald loves adventures and leading his group. Wearing blue or black sailor clothes does not change much, unlike what features it carries.

As much as I love PKNA, DoubleDuck works best for an adaptation, you would need to introduce the classic Duck Avenger first to give a better understanding of PKNA, and outsiders would think it's just Darkwing Duck. You could do like a fresh new start like the reboot did, but the reboot sucks. DoubleDuck works best because it's his own thing and features more the classic Disney characters compared to PKNA, so it would feel more at ease to introduce everything.

Mostly superhero comics, and it was during a period where Disney comics in Italy wanted to reach for other audiences (Internet in Italy was still brand new and unexplored for normies, so seeing hypertechnological stuff for the first time was amazing when you were a kid), PKNA kickstarted it, but not without a lot of interference from the editors, especially in the second series and the Reboot.

As for Kay K's voice, I agree that Nicole Sullivan would be a good choice. My personal pick, however, despite how predictable it would be, is Jennifer Hale. She's got an incredible range, and whether she opts for a lighter voice (like Emma from MGS) or something a smidge deeper (like Samus), I think the character would be done justice.

As long as Rob Paulsen phoning it in isn't involved, it's a deal, although I don't know who could possibly voice Donald then.
You reminded me that there was a motion comic with fandubs of some PKNA comics, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-VE8_0b24M, which they sound okay (for being an amatorial fandub and all), except Donald, it sounds too young-ish for me and somehow a more nasal Sonic the Hedgehog, and I'm not sure if I would like an entire show with Don Cheadle doing the Duck Avenger voice. It's not really the themes the main problem for me, it's just that, in order to make the Duck Avenger adaptable, you would have to make several sacrifices for just your main character, but I don't know how much of it would be for that show to start looking anything BUT the Duck Avenger. Double Duck, as we said, would be a lot easier even with his themes (Disney characters acting in extremely grey areas, implications of death, fucking Donald having some small PTSD), and without the "biological gatekeeping" that Duck Avenger has.

Wouldn't it feel too similar to Darkwing Duck? As much as I would love bastard Scrooge, you could do the series a lot like the very first stories, but I can't see it last very long, and then you could make a shift with more campy superhero stories, with the classic Paperinik's rogues gallery (Spectrus, Inquinator, Mr. Invisible, Zafire, etc.)

The original Three Caballeros is a 1945 movie. Legend of the Three Caballeros is an animated series first released in 2018 elsewhere and in the States on 2019 via Disney+. The series is being shown on TV for the first time, thus the thread.
Animation wise, the original movie and this series is all there is to the Three Caballeros. No new movie in production that we know of.
The Caballeros have made guest appearances in House of Mouse, the new Mickey shorts, Ducktales '17 and Roadster Races.

I also think he should have the range for a different voice than his DT2019 one, especially because PK is quite snarky.

that said, yeah, I agree DoubleDuck is a easier sell.
A LOT of PK relies on the audience already accepting Donald as a superhero, which obviously cannot work as easily in a cartoon.
Unless they go the Pikappa route, which is not necessarily bad, especially as they could easily mix-and-match versions of characters and stories from the PKNA\2\NE and Pikappa
Hell, add some "Universo PK" to tone down some stuff and use more classic characters, especially in the first season(s) so to not make the switch to jarring to the obtuse american viewers

Unpopular opinion, but comics related to "The Three Caballeros" by Don Rosa are, in my opinion, much better than his The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, although it is certainly a great edition of comics.

The Evronians can well be a recurring background mystery as "mysterious rogues" with the Coolflames first and proper soldiers later, climaxing with the reveal of the whole invasion.

When I think about it, the actual character who professed herself as a feminist was Edy Son, which was Gyro's counterpart, Daisy did it mostly to spite Scrooge and Donald (which is a very Duck Avenger thing to do if we're being honest) but there was a comical take on it. They also toned it down because fans felt that the already loser Donald was still a loser even in his Duck Avenger persona, invalidating the entire point of his existence

Isn't it too bloated by incorporating Double Duck into the mix? Although I did like the reference to Ultraheroes and the Bad-7, and Reginella is always neat to have, I feel that it would feel too much meat into the fire, kinda like the problem with DT17 personally: it tried to have the Barks comics, the Rosa comics, Disney Afternoon stuff and piling up mysteries like Gravity Falls, that it became too unbalanced and more focused on the Disney Afternoon stuff, making the rest more of a flavor rather than the actual thing we were supposed to get. The one thing I can commend Three Caballeros is that it stuck to classic Donald Duck shorts (With reference and all, and I count the movies as Classic Donald), making it easier to do stuff with it. Your idea has potential, but I fear that it would feel too unfocused if I must be honest. At this point, as a huge fan of PKNA, I'll be willing to bite the bullet and have plain Donald discover One, kinda like the reboot and the videogame, but then stick completely by the first series. You even have materials for 52 episodes with just the first series alone! As for the voice, it's a tough call, but you could make the mask incorporate a voice modulator, like the games, but I don't know what the best voice could be personally.

remember you have to INTRODUCE all this stuff, starting with selling the concept of Donald-as-Superhero

I think the best would be have the first season(13eps) being about PK-as-Avenger who gets mistaken as\plays the part of the Hero, with the season finale being Donald actively doing The Right Thing and becoming a bona-fide Hero.
It would also introduce new cast members\concepts like Lyla and the PBI

Season 2 would be more "regular" "classic heroic adventures", perhaps introducing the Raider and revealing Lyla is a timecop as well introducing the Coolflames as "background threat"

ideally Season-3 would be where the shit hits the fan and go full PKNA with Xadhoom and the Evronians themselves, as well as the TimePolice showing itself actively working to preserve the timeline regardless who dies in it, plus some terrorism, PTSD, kidnapping, etc etc.

This is O Caçador de Caloteiros, originally appearing in Zé Carioca 1643 and reappearing in Zé Carioca 1833, where this rip is from.
Strangely the rip mixed it up with another comic so I had to reedit each page so it was just this story.

I can read Brazillian well enough to translate that comic, but it's got a big issue: the whole story depends on a pun on the word Caloteiro (grifter/swindler) and Calotero (sort of made up word that is the name of the big lizard at the end).

Basically, without finding a good way to translate this line at the end "this lizard is called Calotero because of his head that looks like a Calota (helmet)" the story wouldn't make any sense.

My post wasn't directed at a specific show. My point is, neither show is perfect: Lot3C has cheap and choppy animation, and DT17 has major storytelling and character issues. To think one better than the other for the sake of perpetuating a tribal war (especially given that they're both children's shows) is kinda cringe.

The thing with 90s shows is they hold up well because they were made as shows, so outside the context you can still watch them. I think the 2010s/2020s shows will be similar where stuff like Owl House will be seen as pure horseshit outside its initial airing

I did actually watch the first episode back in 2020, but I can't say it floored me. Wasn't too fond of the animation, and the pacing was a touch on the slow side. Normally I'm fine with that; for example, I can watch Sergio Leone's later films just fine, in which there's plenty of scenes of characters just looking at each other for 10 minutes straight. Perhaps the pacing improves later on?

I don’t hold it against Braly for being pissed over how Disney handled the Season 2 finale. That was total BS and he was right to call it out, especially since they wanted to censor a key scene at the last minute. Hirsch, however, is a giant man child.
