I am watching it with my gf, we both liked season 1. Season 2 feels like its had the serious/R-rated elements turned down in favour of late night stoner weirdness but its still really good. I guess we both just have a soft spot for Lisa Hanawalts stuff.

I like it a good deal. The comedy doesn't make me laugh out loud but it's passable. I think the characters are interesting and it has some cool animation moments, something I appreciate since a lot of adult cartoons nowadays just think it's okay to be stiff. I pushed off watching it for so long because I thought it would be just "periods amirite" but it really surpassed my expectations.

and it's weird, that they try very hard to make Tuca and Bertie a comedic duo but still try to play it safe with them as to not offend any sjws
while Speckle is funny since he's a guy and they have more room to let loose with him

Yes. I'm an episode behind but highly enjoy this season so far. Like the problems and issues it tackles and while might not be perfect I can roll with it. It's not afraid to be wacky which even kid shows shy from. The world's kooky and interesting and I enjoy the main cast even if I don't like Bertie at times. It's even got oodles of waifubait husbando bait and one-off cuties to obsess over.

Last night's episode was beautiful. I felt the directors/animators got to toy around with the visuals more than usual. The music captured the moods of different scenes perfectly, and I love how the writers approach Tuca as a character.

Though I will say I am bummed that the thicc seagull qt turned out to be a cold, insensitive bitch who plays the victim card. Was really hoping this relationship would work out in the end. Tuca deserves a win, but that's just life sometimes. I have no idea where the final three episodes are headed now that the toilet cup's been addressed.

Pretty cool shit, one of the best experimental-type shows I've watched in a while.
The only things that would improve it is turning down the focus on the gay stuff by like 5%, then hiring the Small-Butera duo for some animation shenanigans here and there.

I was honestly really down on it when it was announced because it felt like Venture Bros. et al were getting killed off for it, but once those got their movies announced I gave it a chance

I watch this show after Rick and Morty every week and it's just so forgettable. It definitely feels made for Netflix because it's serialized character work with lots of wheel spinning, episodes almost completely blur into one another unless they completely break formula (like the night one). Rick and Morty, even at its worst, at least delivers a tight 22 minutes. Tuca and Bertie is a collection of quickly forgotten small moments.

That's what these shows do because they're not very well written by people who don't allow actual flaws by their heroes to be explored. The hero characters can be loud, selfish, crude, selfish, disgusting, selfish, and selfish, but it's ok because the others turn out to be assholes out of nowhere, making it clear that they're still the hero. Penguin chef, thicc seagull, etc. They did it on Broad City too when Abbi's longtime crush turned into a dick out of nowhere insulting her because she ruined his expensive strap on (despite her kinkshaming him the whole time.)
