These shorts have been in production since 2017 (around the same time as Wabbit a show that actually had Pepe le Pew on it) and you can listen to some of the animators talking about them in podcasts/interviews, They made over 100 shorts (Yeah, the entire series is already done HBO Max is just taking forever to release all the shorts) and while the shorts with guns got banned at first some of them got eventually released on HBO Max not long ago (meaning that the no gun shit was something that happened later on as some animators complained about WB refusing to release their shorts early past year).
Why I'm saying this?
Well that's because in some of the early promotional art (AKA T-shirts and the like) you can see the character's silhouettes including Sam with his guns just like how a piece of early promotional art made by one of the animators had Elmer, Sam, Rocky and Mugsy all using guns, But more importantly it had Pepe and Penelope on it...The Bugs Bunny anniversary short also had Pepe and it was made by the same crew, But Pepe was later edited out of the short.
So my question is, are these Pepe shorts lost forever or is there any chance of them getting released someday?
It seems rather silly that they wasted money on these shorts just to never release them after some guys bitched about Pepe on Twitter
