I'm basically saying should we see in episode Earth Kingdom where they actually question if it's going to be entirely a good thing to take the Fire Nation out because some ordinary citizens have actually normal citizens got legitimate improvements by well-meaning Fire Nation people.

why would that be necessary.
Avatar isn't exactly the most morally complex show ever made. Fire Nation are bad guys. They think they're doing good but they actually aren't. Same as any other empire in history. If anything I would have wanted more scenes where the Fire Nation tries and fails to "fix" the Earth Kingdom just to emphasize that one nation shouldn't try to dictate the entire world.

I found out months ago Imperial Japan would have propaganda saying they were gonna improve the rest of Asia
Posters portraying children of Japan, Korea, and China all smiling to create the idea that their assault was gonna be beneficial to these nations
There's something eerie about knowing they would enlist locals and their own military personnel to do stuff like entertain kids and do haircuts when shit like Unit 731 was right around the corner
