Nah, wouldn't count on it. WB loves to overcomplicate their adaptations. I guess the last DC movie that was more or less faithtful to the source material was Shazam. Apparently, back in the day the Batgirl movie was supposed to be based on Simone's run, but I don't know if that's still a thing.

I'd wager the director and writer based everything off of a summary of a wikipedia article rather than reading her comics to understand that her martial arts skills are the result of a childhood full of horrific abuse as a science experiment carried out by her father and her laconicness is the result of extreme deprivation of language skills during critical development periods.

Of course, Cass' presentation in the Harley Quinn film is in and of itself a stereotype, but that's another story.

Seriously though, I always thought Saoirse Ronan would be an interesting pick for Babs. A nerdy looking lass and a really fucking good actress to boot.
