The show would have been better if it just focused on episodic detective stories instead of fucking around with backstory and world-ending, "look how high the stakes are", garbage.
I also feel like they dropped the ball hard on creature designs. They had a chance to do some interesting stuff by marrying material from Christian and Filipino folklore for unique visuals. Instead they defaulted to a visual style and designs that look straight out of a 1990s/2000s direct to vhs/DVD superhero animated film.
