In the end Lucy is nothing. She’s not a “Yass slay queen” fantasy or a Mary Sue completely perfect fantasy or even a manipulative bastard like the mike supporters have made her out to be,
she’s just a dumb c#nt.
In the end, Lucy mentally tortured her friends for years, got away with it all, still had them all love her and then Vera turns around and presents a narrative about how Lucy has “moved on” when she clearly fucking hasn’t. It’s just so many contradictions that we can’t make heads or tails of anything, at this point Lucy is as indecisive with her motivations as Vera is with her narrative.
I didn’t think we could have had a worse ending than a clearly winning or possibly losing Lucy yet here we are.
This kind of reminds me of all the recent shows that were being rushed through their final season to get things back on schedule, so that even though we’ve moved to the point of the story we were expecting, the way we got there has completely ruined it and swept aside too many issues.
Mike and Lucy no longer being passive aggressive to each other might be what we all wanted and expected, but we didn’t want it without acknowledging the full extent of how badly they treated each other, nor how their “friends” sucked at helping them.
This is literally just Lucy taking the role that mike used to have without actually giving a good reason for how she got to that point nor why she deserves it, and to top it off she’s not even very convincing in the role.
Vera might finally be free of the “Queen Lucy” arc she’s drudged through for five years, but she did by almost literally hand waving almost every plot point she’s been building on since 2006.
Just end it already.
