1. There's a lot more bleepy bloopy sound effects in the sound library than decent ones that would be indistinguishable from the FX the show normally has
2. Making polygonal characters or Metal Slug-tier sprites takes much more time than crappy NES pixel art.
3. You don't want the game to be more interesting than the show or else people will want a game instead
4. Most media companies won't spend the money on licensing actual likenesses of real games which limits what they can show
5. Executives still think video games are either The Sims, GTA or Super Mario Bros and can't understand anything that looks different.
