Also, Forge regrets the power stealing device most of all for three big reasons:
1. It was actually created to kill Dire Wraiths but he found out too late, that it could be used to remove mutant powers when notable asshole and anti-mutant bigot supreme Henry Peter Gyrich basically stole the device from Forge to depower Storm
2. The depowering of Storm basically killed any chance Forge might have had to marry Storm.
3. Because Gyrich stole the device to use it on mutants it wasn't ready for use against the Dire Wraiths and as such, the Dire Wraiths did unspeakable beyond pale nightmare fuel killing sprees before Rom finally found a way to rebuild the device to use it to stop them and even then, Gyrich tried to outright KILL Forge and use the device to power nearly every single hero on Earth, as far as Gyrich's hate boner for capes being such that he would allow the Wraiths to conquer the planet if it meant he could kill off the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and other major heroes he hates.
