>>123354813You're a fucking retard, and here's why. The scene is absolutely Reddit, and it is for the following reasons. Peter begins with his denial of magic, sure, that works. His counter about how Ommadon can't grab the sun is great and if the scene had continued down that path, I wouldn't have made the comment I did. But it didn't. Peter first counters Ommadon's magic with actual science, but from there on out Peter devolves into scientism. He doesn't use science, he invokes it. Every time Ommadon does something magical, Peter does the exact same thing only he replaces the magical language with science related language and that's a problem. See, magic works through invocation. You say the magic words and things happen. It's like a religion in that respect. Science, however, isn't about invocation. Just shouting out a bunch of science words that don't relate at all to the situation doesn't give you power, because science isn't a religion, science isn't magic. Science is a method. It's a collection of data that's been processed into facts and theories that don't require magical hokum and ritual.
How is that Reddit?
Because Reddit is all about the surface invocation of words and ideas without knowing what they're talking about. They are the epicenter of the "I believe in science" shit, which is a statement on its surface that is contradictory. Science isn't about belief. You don't trust the science; you test the science. That's how science has progressed as far as it has, not through trust but through testing. But there's Reddit, with all their scientism and vapid cheerleading which is the exact opposite of what science is about. Reddit just shouts words, bits of phrase, and expects that to banish things they don't like. Just like Peter, the "scientist" did.
So yes, my inestimable retard, the ending is Reddit. Take your reactionary shit and pound it straight up your /co/mblr apologizing ass, you pole smoking, taint gargling turbofaggot.
