Although I do think it’s interesting to note in hindsight that none of her comics ever seem to show her caring for or interacting with teenagers, even when looking at the dates will show you that some of the kids should’ve aged up to that point, assuming the comic is autobiographical and happening in real time.
The cast always seems to be at most the parents, a suckling baby, and two nondescript older kids that are usually indistinguishable from eachother. Even when the dates and the fact she seems to keep having babies tells you there should be more kids, it’s always at most three. The baby always looks the same even when the date and the increasing number of children tells you it’s a new baby.
Interestingly, her husband and her get cartoony masks to identify themselves, but the kids don’t. The children are interchangeable from one another and don’t look much different from background characters.
Iunno, I just think it’s interesting to think how the premise of the comic is all about how this woman’s life supposedly revolves around her children, but a close look at her artwork could give younthe interpretation that she might not see those children as actual individual people.
Or maybe I’m just confused and remembering wrong, because I read this shit years ago and might’ve missed some things.
