I'm not one of those guys that spam the "why no original ideas" every time some cartoon makes an anime reference but, This feels too DBZ for all the wrong reasons.

Its the climax to your season , its not the appropriate moment to rip off DBZ,.

Because honestly, there are very little "original and unique" ideas left. Especially when the show has been doing the whole 'characters learn lessons' trope each episode since the start. We've seen that shit, even from popular well regarded shows, for over 20 years.

It honestly would have been better if Goku hadn't been wished into a kid again. I would have argued that Goku acting stupid and childish was out of character back then, but Super dumbed him down so it probably could have been done.
