Can someone please explain why people care so much about them?

They are honestly the most boring, unrelatable characters in Marvel.

Having said that nobody cares about them, Marvel pushed them as X Men replacements back before the Disney Fox acquisition.

That's exactly why I find them interesting. They're a technologically advanced and distinct offshoot of humanity that existed since forever and kept to themselves only until recently simply because they knew they'd be found out sooner or later. They have a leader that attempts outreach with outsiders, attempts internal reform, wears a black jumpsuit, and is more amiable in his interactions with foreigners than his contemporaries. It's a bit reductionist, but they're basically Wakanda but with superpowers as the norm for its citizens.

Ike Perlmutter was salty about Fox holding on to marvel properties, so he mandated that marvel comics would sabotage those ips. The fantastic four were completely take off the board, and the inhumans went from a small population of super humans who lived on the moon to the replacements for mutants. They also changed how the terrigen affected not only mutants but humans also.

Marvel tried as hard as they could to downplay the X-men and push the Inhumans as the new "superpowered genetic minority group" once it was obvious they weren't getting the X-men film rights back, even having a whole event where the terrigen mists were capable of sterilizing the mutants to justify removing them entirely if possible. It was an obvious business move to make since they were doing fuck-all with the Inhumans before, but Disney severely underestimated how attached people were to the x-men as a whole, so it fell through.

I was reading basically every inhuman book at the time I could get and as soon as I heard about that I knew the mist was going to be destroyed eventually and it was going to be bad for the Inhumans franchise.

Very people actually care

A lot of the current calls for more Inhumans are coming from folks who don't like the X-Men right now because Krakoa is a creepy sex cult and the mutants don't suffer or struggle anymore, so even though this era is supposed to be very popular, those who are turned off by all of it feel a certain bitterness that "these aren't my X-Men"

So people think they're being edgy and subversive by demanding the Inhumans come back

Or they're just newfags who got into comics during the Inhumans push and so they feel like it's an attack on them when people say that the Inhuman books were bad, because they didn't know better at the time and enjoyed it

On one hand, Perlmutter's pettiness ruined the Inhumans' image by trying to them them into everything they aren't and making a very inorganic push for them, on the other hand, X-Men fans are insufferable and vengeful, and are quick to remind people of any "injustices" brought upon them, so kind of like the modern iteration of X-Men ironically enough.

As it is, the Inhumans not dead in the water considering Feige still has plans for them, and he won't handle it nearly as badly as Ike by virtue of the fact that he isn't Ike. If they're going to get a second chance with the public, it won't be nearly as lukewarm considering how strong the MCU brand has been up to this point.

Sometimes it has no effect on either humans or mutants, sometimes it gives regular people powers for a bit, sometimes it gives them permanent powers, sometimes it does both but ends up causing cellular damage that kills the person after a while. Sometimes it makes mutants powers go haywire, sometimes it’s like cancer for mutants, sometimes it doesn’t do a goddamn thing to anyone. Ironically kamala has had more interactions and more ties with the inhumans than any nuhuman that doesn't live in attilan. They gave her a new suit, trained her, she sends her villains to them, teamed with them, had lockjaw. Wilson never mentiones champions in her book but still mentioned medusa and the inhumans in the later arcs.

The mutant shit was explained as every individual's x-gene reacting to it differently the same way every individual's x-gene gives different powers. Long term though it fucks up any mutant exposed to it starting with sterilization.

I'm pretty sure all the human side-effects have been retconned.

IvX wasn't planned out well (or at all) in advance which is why Emma goes full genocide route at the last second to make the Inhumans the good guys. Initially Cyclops was supposed to have done something even worse than make death clouds, but then they didn't plan what that would be in advance and shit only went downhill from there.

It wasn't planned and horribly done. The mist bullshit was less about killing mutants and more about stopping new mutant character. It completely ignored how that would reflect on Inhumans. Character who called Cyclops Hitler like Magik were literally helping in DoX. The only explanation is that they got cold feet and changed what he was suppose to do. Hell I would argue Emma faking his shit was also a last minute choice because of how hard her Martyr plan failed. No character was ever shown to be sympathetic for what Cyclops had done. This bullshit only hurt the inhumans.

I think vox appeared in some other book and the guardians of the galaxy mentioned that most of the inhumans are dead and only the royal family is alive and hidden. Also I did bought that book, I really wanted to see the inhumans suffer

Not really. Captain Marvel had a Vox but it didn't DOTI mention and his motivation was literally the opposite. Ewing had Hulking take over the kree and hasn't mention a single thing from it. Slott has had Medusa and Crystal show up in F4 multiple times without mentioning any of it. Everyone but Cates is ignoring it.

Cian is still drawing the same people from the first cover. Though he hasn't posted Black Bolt in a while. He posted a picture of Blade three days ago. Although from what I have herd it's a weekly comic like those Avengers things Ewing did a few years ago. So even if it doesn't get bumped again it likely want come out until after august.

It would be a pretty big oversight to have Wanda team up with Black Bolt and ignore their shared family. Wanda didn't hang out with Inhumans nearly as much as Pietro but they still met plenty of times.

That's exactly why the Inhumans push didn't work as well as they wanted it to, they were relative unknowns to most people that were being pushed as the next big thing ever without easing them in to get people more familiar with them. X-Men biting off the Inhuman formula works for them primarily because they're characters that a lot more people are familiar with, so whatever old dynamics that were in place just get shoved into the new template.
