I think it's a more consistent show than BtAS, avoiding the lows of that show at the expense of also failing to reach its heights. It's still, in my opinion, one of the definitive takes on the character and his rogues.

Tremendous three part start. Do feel a bit of a lull after that. Gotta admit some eps just weren't super compelling. Then they begin to sprinkle in some really good episodes. Strong build to the end.

Really good overall animated show. Classic. Middle of the pack DCAU show for me, personally, though. Best solitary Supes effort on screen in some time.

I introduced my friend to Lobo with this ep. Shame we didn't get more of him.

Show's good OP, its a lot more consistent in quality overall than BTAS and has a little lighter tone overall, but still manages to take itself pretty seriously.

I'll never get the consistent thing thats always harped on about. I found it had quite a few nothing to write home about eps as well. I mean it had 30 eps or so less than BTAS so I guess that helps its average. But It also was just not as visually stunning.

DCAU Brainiac is terrifying to me. Being an OS trying to fulfill a purpose it was programmer for, he barely seems sentient a lot of the time. There are untold numbers of Brainiac androids throughout the cosmos, each capable of wiping out entire civilizations. He has a body count in the billions or potentially even trillions. In Justice League he’s downloading himself into human flesh and shit.

STAS Luthor and Darkseid are rightfully praised, but I don’t think Brainiac gets the recognition he deserves. Some people don’t like how they changed him to be a Kryptonian computer, but I think it works for this version of the character. Streamlines the narrative and makes things more personal. Corey Burton’s performance is GOAT.

I don't know, I mean if the restoration is 'ultra-clean' then yes, I prefer the old version, but I think they've done a good job with the transfer here, there's grain and the 'cel look' is retained.

Metallo was also really well done in TAS. He was Stas's Mr Freeze in that he was sympathetic to a extent. Not on the same level just because he was already a villain before he was fucked over but still.
