>>121768789It's pretty bog-standard when it comes to LGBT rep. Lesbians and bisexual girls galore. Probably a transwoman if you wanna spice it up.
There is usually one gay guy who is bitter and lonely, if he DOES have a boyfriend or husband, they are tragically killed off screen and also - there isn't generally allowed to have more than two gay men tops in the roster at any given time.
Bisexual men and transmen are even rarer. The rarest of all being actual intersexed characters or maybe asexuals.
Jeph's whole comic banks on the pandering to lgbt and I find these two characters cute enough. But it's not really the best in terms of having a wide variety of characters with varying personalities.
Everyone is kind of samey or fall into certain 1 of 3 personalites..
Which usually boil down to..
Neurotic but Totally TM relatable, anxiously apologies and is cute and soft
Loud, brash, in your face and proud of it, often declares weirdness or character flaws like a badge of honor
Quiet, calm and only good at giving one liners - borders on autistic or is actually autistic. Generally agreeable.
And that's really the only kind of personalties Jeph writes. His characters rarely have ambitions besides what they want for breakfast or who they wanna fuck next. No deep seeded fears or challenges they have to overcome.
It's just random experiences and situational humor. The plot is non-exsistant.
