I know that Elliot couldn’t keep Yay out of his apartment if he tried (though he doesn’t know that), but I still think it’s so weird that he gave her permission to just let herself into his house whenever she feels like it to play with his cat. Sometimes I'm surprised at Jeph's ability to pick up a topic and then piledrive it 8nto being unusable for story material. Like with May's body how he started getting into doing socialized robot parts and didn't realize why it would be a totally different market type than medicine. Somewhere along the long it was like he realized he was forming a corrupt, state-monopolized robot business that would be less efficient than having two or three parts makers trying to sell a better part, so he just ran away from it, May got her body, she broke up with Sven. I believe the first one was before this and not tied to outrage over a strip at all, but his own personal issues and potentially drinking too. This one is the second, and the outrage stemmed from Marigold actually not being depicted as fat. She has a perfectly thicc hourglass figure here and Jeph was writing this internal conflict with her as if she was more realistically out of shape.
