The original show had a story from episode to episode. I could see kids maybe getting bored at some parts because it wasn't nonstop in your face with the pace. The new one is super cheap to make so they can make a shit top of episodes cheap and fast. The new one is episodic and they can play it whenever. You can watch any episode at any point and not feel lost.
The new one is a simple comedy with a bright and upbeat tone. The old one was a little darker and a little slower-paced. The old one had comedy in it but wasn't the main focus. The new one is bright and colorful and they shoot out jokes like crazy (even if it isn't funny). It's like a sugar rush. Parents just want something to occupy their kids.
I remember this one time I saw a work buddy's girlfriend's kid watching Teen Titans Go on his Ipad when the mom didn't feel like playing with him. And I was like, Ooooh that's what the show is for.
Teen Titans would be more at home on Netflix or maybe some anime channel. Just a place that would appricaite it for what it is.
