>>121621740>>121623284So what does all of that mean?
It means John doesn't want much out of his wife, but what he does want he wants it hard. And what does John want? To be worked up. He wants to have a problem that can be solved, no matter how small or stupid. He wants to argue about dinner, about the couch, about whatever, even if he ends up wrong. He doesn't want to destroy anything, he just wants something that'll get his blood pumping. But not all the time, he still wants his loving wife and family, he wants to live in a peaceful neighborhood. But sometimes John's a sleeping bear And wants to be poked every once in a while. And there's no better poker than Terezi.
But what does Terezi want? She wants conflict like John but to a much higher degree, but it's all fun to her. She says things to get a rise out of people. Her threats 99% empty but you know that 1% is very real. And so she needs someone who can handle that 1%. But she doesn't want it all the time, she understands the beauty of the mundane, where the most exciting thing happening is a mayor on trial for taking a bribe. She wants someone she can sneak up to and put in a headlock without it breaking out into a death match.
So there it is, John wants someone to love and keep his life from being dull, and Terezi wants someone fight without it resulting in a death.
But even johnrezi isn't perfect. John's a sleeping bear, passive on his own until he needs to act. I think John would have to learn to instigate Terezi if he wants to make her happy. And Terezi firmly wants John in the black quadrant, which he hates. But even so, John loves pulling pranks, and quadrants are just social rules that don't need to be followed anymore.
Rants over
