Lola was already a strong and capable character in the original, how is making her deliberately less attractive going to change her personality and skills? It's just feeding into the age-old stereotype that attractive women are dumb bimbos whereas ugly women are the smart ones.
Furthermore I fail to see the reason why a Looney Tune needs to be a role model type character. None of the other Tunes are, so why does she have to be one?
