You kinda have to mix and match to create factions like that.
And it's not handwaving across Arabia, Persia and India which are historically rather distinct to throw them into a single pot.
This is an explicitly fantastical place with obviously magical creatures and strange beasts that is just inspired by the various cultures of SEA that are shown to be distinct and varied.
I think there is no real faux pas in there.
