There are very few characters of color. Especially characters of color who get the spotlight and big releases. And ESPECIALLY characters of color actually written by characters of color. Changing a great and proud African American character into yet another generic blond hair blue I self insert is the height of entitlement and white supremacy. Stealing from someone less fortunate than you and rewriting your own history for it. If I have to tell you how fucked up that is you need to leave /co/ and pick up some books.
