That brief scene where they turn to the camera and go, "Yeah but have you heard about [God/the Creator/etc]?" Though it's not a full-blown sermon, it is pretty jarring -- even if it makes sense for Farmer Jim to say it. It's weird for the same reason other comics suck when they quip about "orange man bad" or pic related, just the author proselytising at you through their characters.
I bought the first book, and I intend to buy the second when I find a reseller. But that, the Evil the Cat commies joke, the Queen saying "thank atheism" etc. just feels really out of place from the Jim I remember.
