I often see things that try to deconstruct the superhero genre go the route of "let's just make everyone with powers a complete asshole with no redeeming qualities". And I just find it odd that a lot of writers who do this seem to think it's realistic and profound but I think it's pretty childish to think that everyone would respond to getting superpowers the same way and that way is always "I'm going to be the biggest dick I can"
