>What is this thread?
Every Wins'day at Win-O'-Clock we gather here and post links to the latest scans and rips of comic books.
Most links we uploaded ourselves, others we are sharing from elsewhere.
Some comics we've even purchased ourselves (but most we didn't).
If you'd like to help out, just ask and we would be delighted to tell you how.
Otherwise, be patient, be polite, and understand the simple concept behind these words: Not posted means not available yet.

http://boards.fireden.net/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
(Note: This finds the OP for old threads. If you want to search for comics in the archive, clear the subject field!)
>Where can I find downloads for other comics?
Warez forums/blogs, DDL-indexing search engines (like FilesLoop), torrent trackers (like ETTV) and other P2P networks (like DC++).
If a link has been posted on 4chan, you can search for it in the Desu archive (add "http*" to searches to return only posts with links).
If all else fails, just >buy it.

Who thought it's a good idea?>On April 15, 2020 Marvel Comics announced that a new version of the New Warriors would appear in the Outlawed storyline, under the mentorship of the original team. The new characters, Trailblazer, Screentime, Snowflake, Safespace and B-Negative, met considerable backlash from the online audience, particularly due to the use of internet slang in their names as well as the perceived political agenda of the writing and designs, with Snowflake and Safespace drawing most of the criticism. Originally delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, as of January 2021 it has yet to be rescheduled for release.

I think it's got to do with it being a very transitional period with things like Wolfman's Teen Titans, Claremont's X-Men, and the Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis JLI/JLA giving way to more Watchmen/DKR style 'grim and gritty' at the Big Two right around the same time that the Image guys were really pushing the art to the forefront ( which, unfortunately, was largely all sizzle and no steak in the end ).
I remember people pretty much taking it as a given at the time that Image was going to be the next generation's Marvel with books like Spawn getting fast-tracked to the movies ect ect.
But, of course, if you actually go back and look at all the crap that came out in the 1980's you quickly realize that people tend to just remember the hits an ignore/forget about the misses.

I think this is true for any era, honestly. We remember the highlights and everything else gets forgotten. For the 90s, people remember a select few stories because they're easy clicks for editorial sites to talk about. But everything else gets tossed to the wayside. And we forget that there were a ton of enjoyable comics published during that decade. Just like every decade.

Killing and Dying (2018) (Digital) (phillywilly-Empire)
http://www.mediafire.com/?1jjbp9dkntmlswe/ >After enjoying over six months on the New York Times Bestseller list and receiving a rave review from the same institution, Killing and Dying reaffirms acclaimed cartoonist Adrian Tomine's place not only as one of the most significant creators of contemporary comics, but as one of the great voices of modern American literature. Tomine's (Shortcomings, Scenes from an Impending Marriage) gift for capturing emotion and intellect resonates: the weight of love and its absence, the pride and disappointment of family, the anxiety and hopefulness of being alive in the twenty-first century. >“Amber Sweet” shows the disastrous impact of mistaken identity in a hyper-connected world; “A Brief History of the Art Form Known as Hortisculpture” details the invention and destruction of a vital new art form; “Translated, from the Japanese,” is a lush, full-color display of storytelling through still images; the title story, "Killing and Dying," centers on parenthood, mortality, and stand-up comedy. In six interconnected, darkly funny stories, Tomine forms a quietly moving portrait of contemporary life. >Adrian Tomine is a master of the small gesture, equally deft at signaling emotion via a subtle change of expression or writ large across landscapes illustrated in full color. Killing and Dying is a fraught, realist masterpiece. Anonymous
