>>120797956>its only now that these things became popular that actual fake geek girls started propping uBeing new to a hobby isn't being fake. And hell, Many geek fandom have got people who were complete poser pretending to know more shit about geek stuff to make themselves look more interesting and popular.
They used to be mostly men and ironically enough, they were much more likely to be the first to complain about "fake geek girl", as they thought it was cheating for a girl having boobs, being an unfair competition to his own BS. Now he can't be the center of attention anymore.
Before people started to complain about Fake geek Girl (and boy was it always something stupid to complain about), there was "That Guy". And he was always a bigger problem. That Guy used to be more easily accepted, because the fandom was less popular and casrting him out meant you migth end up being too short of people on your own hobby.
The hobby becoming popular, That guy became less and less necessary, so of course, That Guy started to complain about fake Geek Girl and "not being allowed to be racist", because making the hobby toxic means it will remain unpopular and this means he is allowed to stay in an allowed to keep being "That guy". And the amount of people who fell for it is just dumbfounding.
Seriously, at least learn to know a person before stamping them as a poser. Try to bring real interest to someone who is new and want to know more about your hobby. It's everything That Guy doesn't want, because he want to keep control over his little empire.
