It's on the latter half of the Renaissance. Some would say the actual plot is at odds with the actual characters and such, which is also why the cartoon is also beloved for its takes on Greek myth

I like Disney's Hercules but I sure didn't find its soundtrack any special, completely forgettable songs compared to the really famous tracks from the other Disney movies released in the same era. The peak of Disney's Hercules are definitely its cast, especially Hades and Phil.

I'm pretty sure he was planned to have one, but then they found out that James Woods really REALLY can't sing. I seem to remember some clip of him singing and thinking he sounds good, but it's awful, but I can't find it now.
