>or a single caring lover?Is all he ever wanted. That said, the show blew its chance on this with Flame Princess. A proper relationship for a story's main character requires enough time for it to be properly developed. This is basic stuff. Even FP would have benefited from being introduced a little earlier, and there are of course several problems with the WAY she was introduced as a deus ex girlfriend, but if the show had worked on her and Finn's relationship -- even keeping in the breakup if they wanted to -- things would have been fine.
Mind you, I'm no real fan of Finn/FP at all, but you know, just for the sake of answering the question.
