Honestly, I thought Way was doing a good job of carrying the torch but he couldn't keep a schedule to save his life and the series lost momentum

My least favourite thing would be some DC house writer like Tynion to make some by-the-numbers bullshit, just let the franchise coast off the show for a bit and wait until a good idea is presented

Way's stuff was great, Morrison 2.0, but with enough new ideas to make it its own thing. It's a textbook case of how a reboot/continuation should be done.

You need someone daring and creative to do what Morrison did back in the late 80s and just create new things, new characters, new scenarios, new ideas. Everyone's kinda just been recycling his shit since or trying to reboot and recycle Drake. Way being the worst offender.
