>>120483960rule of thumb, any cartoon that gets posted on the bittercartoon hashtag is gonna turn out shit
even the rare few that DONT look like samey kindergarten-toon calarts trash, even the ones that may have an interesting premise, even the ones that somehow against all odds tell you more about the show than "this is girl mcmagic pants, a quirky [insert person of brown race] girl with lotsa quirkiness and quirks and is very quirky in a super special magical world that we wont explore, and its all a metaphor about loss or growing up or something"... no matter how much they stand out from the rest, the fact that theyre using a hashtag that is made solely by bitter children, for bitter children, to whine about how 'me me gooder me can do better than the professionals mommy look!!' and to moan that they never gotten their cartoon even tho they never put themselves out there before, i suppose someone was just meant to find them somehow and give them the job
none of these people have ever, or will ever, pitch their cartoon- which imo should be one of the necessities for getting one- showing how much you REALLY want it, how well you know your shit and how willing you are to work with others.
theyll sit on the internet complaining that no one will come to THEM. altogether even if their art is technically impressive and their idea is interesting or unique, theyre just not made of the stuff that showrunners ougta be made from.
they dont have the skills, or even gumption, and so theyll do a horrible job actually creating anything
THATS why this hashtag is so great, it shows you who you shouldnt hire. because even if their work looks good, the fact that they use it, especially if they use it INSTEAD of actually pitching their work- it shows you people who dont WANT to WORK on a cartoon. they want to BE the person who worked on a cartoon.
