Had the story actually been about two sides were none of them are entirely good or entirely evil, and both Catra and Adora were flawed and virtuous in certain regards, then this argument would make sense. But the princesses are good and the horde is evil, Adora is a heroine and Catra a villain. There's no morally grey area, one side is in the right and the other in the wrong.
