They absolutely should, iirc there were some nice editions Marvel used to put out many a moon ago that were just inks.
I believe DC and Marvel also used to release omnibus' that were in black & white too.

You try coloring a 30+ page comic even under a month every month. You don't know what you're talking about.
American comics would 100% benefit from being monochrome. Color for color's sake is moronic.

Lad, I love b/w comics but in order to do them good you red talent and a lot of inkers are not talented enough. If America can't make good comics with millions of colours at their hands, how do you expect them to do it with a just a limited palette?

I literally color my mangas with color pencils and it only takes takes me a day to finish a single book, why you ask? Because the story, the art, and really the consumer in general, deserves better. It's only getting worse because they're getting more successful and still ripping off people with this shit because they're allowed to. Comics are shit now, but atleast there's some semblance of soul left in them still.

I think it might be because a lot of the color theory was developed back when printing in color was an iffy prospect (like why Hulk ended up green instead of gray) and like so many other things about the industry they just never updated their thought processes.

I remember DC use to do showcase books where they would have full runs (blue beetle for example) on cheap paper in b/w for like £20 quid. I liked those, 500 pages for cheap.

But then yanks love colour and 'quality paper' because they can't care for their comics.

I get now it would cost more to go back to cheap paper stock because they'd need new inks and a printer able to do it etc.
