Wonder woman has never gotten a good, consistent characterization and I say that as a fan. Sometimes she's literally perfect, and others she's a vicious feminist archetype. Could you throw her into a pulp, horror, romance, or other story? Sure...but it ain't going to be as easy as with batman.
Superman suffers a similar problem, except his is that he has a perfect characterization, but pretty much no one can pull it off. Esp these days, because none of them believe in what he does, and they can't comprehend his point of view. So they can't write him, which means good fucking luck putting him in a different genre.
Batman is basically a human who can do some shit. At his worst he gets over taken by humanity fuck yeah, but most people can tone that down enough for him to still reasonably for any kind of story.
