Thanos with the resources of Apokolips and a Father Box would fuck over DC. No universe is safe from Thanos's attempt to spread death across the multiverse. Thanos becomes a shell of his former self the moments he meets Death and is told she disprove of his methods.

Darkseid without the resources of Apokolips and a Father Box is ultimately killed by someone cosmic heavy hitter or cosmic abstract. And unlike Thanos that is occasionally resurrected by Death, Darkseid has no one.

Being a cosmic being in DC might be special due to how few of them there are. But in Marvel, there are literally surplus of cosmic beings and cosmic abstracts. The cosmic beings and cosmic abstracts also like to maintain the status quo. So if someone like Darkseid comes along and attempt to change things, he will get fucked up.
