>>120089893The trouble with that is that fans threw a hissy fit of their own when Luke didn’t get properly fellatiated in the sequels to the point that the final film was heavily focused on giving us member berries of how great he was, which made the current main protagonist feel like a prop and stripped away what little interesting traits she had left.
So when Mandalorian came along and basically halted the last 10 minutes of the episode of the finale for yet more Luke, it feels annoying to have mouth breathers like pic related cheering about “finally” getting what they want as if they didn’t throw a huge tantrum already. The Rise of Skywalker was literally made to be one big backpedal for these guys and they hated it anyway, which means that those who genuinely enjoyed Last Jedi were punished for nothing.
Mandalorian’s charm is that it’s about the universe beyond the insular Skywalker saga, and having Luke show up to overshadow everybody just rubs folks the wrong way because we actually haven’t had a break from him at all.
