I've been a lot of things, met a lot of people, worn a lot of hats, and such
If you really want, you can live life doing the bare minimum, no responsibilities, hanging around with your friends all the time
I drink with people who do that. I had an uncle that did that (until he died). I used to do that. It's pretty fun at first.
But then you notice your coworkers are getting younger. The women you're picking up aren't as pretty. Some of your friends sell out to the man and get a career, start a family, and you don't see them as much. The friends that do stick around start to stagnate because the only people consistently around you are the people like you. It feels like the rest of the world is moving on. Because they are, and you've chosen to stay still.
Look, if it really makes you happy, and you don't want much out of life, do it. But I regularly drink with guys old enough to be my father/grandfather who have to work jobs as pizza delivery, or live with their parents, or do under the table work to get by. It's gets to be an expensive and harder lifestyle in the long run.
