Jameson's a paper man, and Pete is a seasoned photo-journalist. Jameson likely only gets first publishing rights, print and web, and Pete can sell the photos elsewhere after. It'd be stupid to give Jameson full rights to the photos unless he paid a fortune.

It feels wrong that characters like Clark, Lois and Jonah are being detached from print media. Granted investigative journalism is dying too but if the characters had been allowed to age at a reasonable pace then they could have retired with dignity and not be forced into these new roles that don't fit.
