>>119723158What show breaking skills are you referring to? Opening a door that Kasia could have unlocked, talking to a creature like Hilda's done? You do know that the communication Frida did doesn't take away free will, if the kraken still wanted to kill Frida it would have (still amazing no one got hurt when it attacked). If anything the use of the water spirit was more adventure breaking than anything.
>>119723267I hear what you're saying but those "conveniences" has already happened in season one. Tontu as the teleporter and the use of nowhere space (more so in season 2). A rat hoard that can find weaknesses; a thunder bird spirt that can fly the gang around and scare off a giant; a magic deerfox that always knows where to find things, including secret entrances; the vittra and all the tunnels that Hilda use to get around town; Alfur always finding a clause for the situation.
I wouldn't worry yet about the witch council. They seems a bit self serving and punishment happy to be source that Hilda and co can turn to outside of a last resort; Matida is still a recluse and won't be teleporting around in public, Kasia is out of practice and doesn't hang around the gang. Frida still an apprentice and wouldn't know many spell this early on.
>>119723375Frida did well with the doors because they were puzzles and they played to her strength. Hilda fighting the plant monster saved Frida time to think as well as fed the portal pit doom monster; Hilda had the physical instinct to reach the book that Kasia needed and without Hilda pulling Frida along the two wouldn't have found the secret witch area and Kasia would have been lost. Kasia needed to believe in herself again to do the magic to save all of them in that void, the connection with her mentor to kick start Frida's development and serve as a bridge for cast to the magical side of the Hilda universe.
Frida, Hilda and Kasia all played a part in the adventure.
