Pretty unrealistic, more buildup with some dramatic stunt she was about to pull off would have made more sense for this cut.

Fair enough. I just feel like making Mike the bad guy is a bad idea, especially if she is apparently toning down somethings but leaving others intact. Plus with the way the comic has been written to now, there is no benefit in making Mike suffer over and over when it is not leading to a payoff.

Oh I absolutely agree, anon. Mike objectively is not a bad person and I think Taeshi doesn't mean for him to be taken as such. But since her writing operates off insider knowledge instead of discernible nuance, the retarded fans have taken the current status quo as gospel truth. Mike's biggest mistakes are:
1) Not believing Lucy was really trying to improve (which given his history with her is pretty understandable).
2) Going too far in December by trying to hurt her back.
3) Letting Lucy live in his head rent-free after she came back.
4) Being too defensive about his relationship with Sandy (also understandable due to everyone and their mother dunking on it, but in doing so he tries to ignore all the red flags).

A twisted ankle would've been fine, or tripping over herself and hurting her nose, or any typical injury, not breaking your own leg by trying to move.

The contrast/exaggeration would work right after seeing the move, but waiting 2 days for this feels really weird. And you're deprived the slap stick comedy of seeing the screw up.

Retconning that to be Jess's first time was a mistake.
It took Jess from a character willing to use Paulo to hurt Tess (for reasons I don't remember) into one that was willing to demean herself to hurt Tess.
That was one of the earliest signs for me that Taeshi can't do subtle to save her life. Everything has to be the biggest deal, and grudges can't just be grudges.

That being said, I miss these earlier comics (pre-watercolor) when it actually looked like the cast was growing. And when their head-body proportions weren't 1:1.5
