How the hell did they fuck this up? I just wanted a Police procedural set in Zootopia. would've been an easy shot. a show revolving around gag characters always suck.

I was going to say this just meant that Nick and Judy were guaranteed for the sequel movie that you know is going to be made eventually.
But I didn't even consider that Disney dodged a bullet by a few years.
Sequel might take a bit, or they might say fuck it and just make up new characters to flesh out the whole setting more.
It'd be pretty easy to just leave Zootopia as just a place that can have any kind of climate to make the next scene interesting, but there's definitely room to actually flesh it out and how the different parts of it might interact.
Like say the arctic region's melting ice might feed extra water into other parts of the city, before the used and treated water is somehow fed back into the weather to blanket the icy part of town again.
So the arctic part of town is actually coated in recycled sewage snow or some shit.

To be fair, I always thought Nick becoming a cop was really forced. I would've preferred an ending where he's back on his old bullshit, but he and Judy have a Batman/Catwoman relationship, but more platonic.

Everybody keeps forgetting this show is short form. Forky Asks A Question is a good barometer for what to expect here. 3-4 minute shorts animated by the film studio. It's not a full length show by any capacity.

Sing just keeps on winning. It's sequel comes out next year, but Zootopia will never have one thanks to the screeching of BLM. Just goes to show that race politics should never be the focus of animation, just be a fun ride from beginning to end.
