We're talking about general misfortunes in life, not outright suicide. But the fact of the matter is, people can be downtrodden about aspects of themselves to the point where they would be willing to kill themselves. That's an unfortunate fact of human psychology. And unlike cancer which can be treated and there's news about a potential ace in the hole cure every week, blindness and the inability to walk that looks like it could be solved through transhumanist technologies, there's not a peep about a potential fix for shortness.
