>>119352233There's nothing differentiating Belos from any run of the mill villain. His demeanor, attitude, and actions are incredibly basic for the typical "pure evil dictator who rules with an iron fist". None of his scenes radiate any presence beyond "this is the villain the heroes will defeat" which isn't enough to make a good villain. While it's true we just got to know him, you can judge a character based on the first impressions, and he is pretty weak. The fact that Luz was able to break his mask, delay his plans, and liberate his prisoners while still being a beginner mage just makes him look like a wimp despite his OP magic powers.
Andrias on the other hand radiates presence. He is big and has the personality to match it. He is presented as an enigma. His first scene has him in the shadows scheming and mysterious, but then we see him act as a big softie who loves the heroes. And the back and forth between his scheming manipulative moments and his friendly face makes you question which one is his real self. Is he a villain? Or is he an anti-hero with bad intentions? We don't know, but the joyful, almost childish front he has made him endearing, to the point where the audience doesn't really want him to be the bad guy, yet it seems inevitable.
