So it's a mix of both moving puppet parts and switching between them depending on the angle when plain tweening won't do. It's more obvious if you look at it frame by frame, focusing on specific body part.
I've seen some brief examples of this but could never find a technical breakdown of how Lion Guard was animated. For what it supposedly is, end result looks fucking amazing and it's probably much cheaper than traditional animation, so I wish I could learn more about this.
