He's the show's resident punching bag and kinda a dork, and he's meek and rational when compared to Demencia and BH, so a lot of people assume at first that he's being forced into villainy, but he's actually pretty evil and sadistic himself, he hates heroes, and it's implied that he's not quite right in the head too. Also, he's not as pathetic as he seems, he does have some authority behind the scenes. I really wanna know what his problem is, how did he end up on Hat Island, what's under his bag, what's the deal with his family, why he looks up to BH so much, and what's in store for him in the future.
I think that even for a villainous protagonist Flug is kinda unique, even though the basics of his character might seem unoriginal. For example, he's a nerdy underdog, like a lot sympathetic villains out there, but unlike the majority of villain protags in Western cartoons, his team is usually on the winning side of things, and a lot of crimes they commit are actually pretty heinous (e.g., capturing a baby hero for BH's lunch) which makes the show feel novel. Basically, Flug feels like a mixture of the comedic, bumbling villain protagonists from Western kids' cartoons (like Doktor Frogg, Gru or Megamind) who are either doomed to fail in their villainous pursuits, or get redeemed in the end, and are usually pretty harmless to begin with, and the successful villain protagonists from serious anime (like Light) who often get killed off at the end of the show to pay for their evil deeds . There's so many possibilities of what might happen to Flug in the end, (like, karma, accomplishments, and alignment-wise), which makes it exciting for me.
I can't wait for when the show starts, I really love mad scientists, so I hope we get a lot more scenes like your pic related. I also love when he's being cute, so I wanna see more scenes with 505, his relationship with Flug is adorable.
