Can someone explain to me how the fuck characters who are supposed to be "zany to the max" even have the capacity to sit the fuck still long enough and properly sing an educational and informative song for children?

I mean this guy was basically told 'hey, you want music in this show, impress me' and he just... took all the countries of the world and set them to the mexican hat dance.
and then rob did it flawlessly in a single take. Okay it's not a whoopee cushion, but it's definitely a little kooky.

i suppose that song is 'problematic' now since, for a third of the middle of its history, it was sung by black people or fake black people trying to be black. Yet nobody is aware that kind of thing is literally what old black and white cartoons were all about.

I know you're that same anon that says him slapping Wakko after trying to break into the tower was "out of character". There was nothing before that showed that. In fact, they hurt themselves multiple times because they know they're cartoons and will be fine and it's literally their nature to be zany.

You'll have to refresh me, anon. I don't recall that being the case. they certainly didn't beat up on each other. I mean I guess Dot was allowed to smack the guys for getting horny, that's just classic humor.. though in retrospect that has kind of gone too far and probably made a lot of guys feel guilty for normal thoughts

Animaniacs was always a bad attempt at creating a "classic cartoon". Warner Bros. cartoons, which it tried to ape, had a lot of logic and thought put into them shockingly, for you. They weren't random chaos.
