He wasted every budget he was ever given. He took his at-best average ideas and executed them so poorly it killed adult-oriented animation until the fucking Simpsons revitalized the concept.
I'll give him 'Heavy Traffic' was pretty good. Everything else he ever worked on was worse than cumstains on celluloid made into film.
