Really enjoyed it. The fact that they went for a full 8 minute no-dialogue sequence at the end was a great choice. Also props to Kevin Kiner for composing some amazing pieces for those final episodes. The bladerunner-esque synth music just works surprisingly well for Star Wars.

IMO they knew about it but the official word was that the chips were inhibitors designed to avoid them getting too aggressive during battle and affecting their decision making.

These are all things that aren't concrete and verifiable. This is Star Wars, if they don’t want a character to die they won’t. And Maul not only isn’t defeated by Ahsoka directly in a duel, but he escapes like two episodes later.
