Anime style is all flash no substance

The Japanese are just terrible at timing. Even their good animations tend to be choppy as hell and lack proper timing. Kind of goes hand in hand with the fact most anime has really shitty pacing. I bet it's because timing is so integral to every other aspect of their lives that when it comes to art and escapism they just throw it out the window.
